25 and 26 March was the yearly textile fair of TextielPlus (a magazine) in Deventer. Besides the Boekkunstbeurs in Leiden every fall this has become a regular outing. It gives a lot of energy to see so many people creating things, This time the emphasis lay more on the selling people than on the exhibitors. And although I thought I didn't need anything I couldn't resist the sight of some retro fabric, stencils (for spraypainting and to use with the textile crayons), silk scarfs (for felting), nice buttons en pretty papers from Asia (only one euro a piece!) and ribbon of leftover silk. In one word: it was a well-spent day. I also enjoyed the trainride with my book from Kazuo Ishiguro 'Never let me go'.
Deze stukken waren gemaakt naar foto's. Helaas heb ik geen idee wie de maakster is. Wel dat ze ongeveer een jaar over een werk doet. Het is borduurwerk waar ook stukjes stof in verwerkt zijn.
These pieces are made after photos. Unfortunately I have no idea who the maker is. What I do know is that it takes about a year to accomplish one piece. It consists of embroidery in combination with little pieces of fabric.
